This is not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, retrieve official records, post bail, or give legal advice. Contact the appropriate Suffolk or New York public office for those services.
Site Questions
Questions about site wording, links, or a technical issue may be sent through the contact channel provided with the service. Do not submit sensitive personal information, court orders, identifying documents, or urgent custody requests through a private-site message. Official sources control their own records, deadlines, and disclosure decisions.
Current County Custody
For a current Suffolk County custody or bail question, the Sheriff's Contact page identifies Central Records as the direct route. The office may need a full name, date of birth, booking information, or other permitted detail to locate the correct file.

Listed as available 24/7 for custody and bail questions.
Incarceration Records
For a prior county incarceration record or a narrowly described photograph request, use the Sheriff's FOIL process. A completed, printed, and signed request is directed to the Freedom of Information Officer at the Sheriff's Office, 100 Center Drive, Riverhead, NY 11901. The Sheriff states that incarceration records for people held in a Suffolk correctional facility can generally be provided, subject to applicable limits.
Police Reports and Photos
Police arrest reports and police-held photographs belong with the arresting agency, not the Sheriff's incarceration-record route. SCPD Central Records handles the county-police path for Brookhaven and Islip matters. Fees vary, and the agency's service window is weekdays only.

Courts and State Custody
For a later case outcome, use the official WebCriminal route or Suffolk County Clerk court-actions instructions. A state-prison question belongs with the New York DOCCS lookup and its records route. Federal or immigration custody requires the relevant BOP, USMS, or ICE contact. These systems are separate from a Suffolk County booking record.
